Elves

Reader-facing lore from the Journeys Start public canon.

Elves

Elves are continuity keepers.

They do not rule. They oversee.

Elven magic

Elven magic is slow, precise, distributed across distance, and domain-bound. It negotiates change rather than forcing it.

Where humans learned to make magic answer quickly, elves preserve the older pattern: take little, wait long, and leave the system able to continue without you.

Instinctive law

Elves cannot knowingly harm another elf. This is instinct, not legislation.

This makes them exceptionally stable, but also cautious to the point of paralysis when an ending is required.

Dawne

Elves do not worship Dawne, but they instinctively recognize her authority over beginnings. When a Cleric or Paladin of Dawne appears, elves defer and assist.

Human history

Elves taught humans magic, and humanity later distorted it through shortcut research.

It is not currently canon that elves deliberately hid the truth of humanity's lost lifespan from the world. Some elves may preserve records, restrict access, or avoid intervention, but the exact history of who knew what, who concealed what, and why remains unresolved.

This unresolved history may become important later in the series.
